These cabinets are used in railway automation equipment that is part of signalling, interlocking and blocking systems. The frame is made of steel sheets with a thickness of at least 1.5 mm.
Intended use of the product:
- moving the signal blocking cable connections of the signalling system to tower and wayside equipment away from the electric interlocking units, thus allowing to route flame-retardant cables to the electric interlocking units;
- moving surge protection devices away from engineering facilities to increase fire safety levels;
- providing the means to splice and connect cables away from engineering facilities.
The cabinet design foresees three basic modules:
- input module (for cable connections);
- switching module (for surge protection devices);
- output module (cable connections to electric interlocking units) using flame-retardant seals for connections between modules.
