Scope and field of application
MSKhZ underground cold shrink cable tubes may be used to splice the following types of signal blocking cables: armored and unarmored, those that aren’t under excess air pressure, with polyethylene insulation, filled and unfilled, with copper cores with cross sections of 0.63–1.5 mm2, manufactured for a rated voltage of 380 V AC, 50 Hz frequency or 660 V DC.
The cable tube is, in essence, a plastic cylinder with leaves and prefabricated insulating tubes made of organic silicon material or EPDM rubber, which have been pre-stretched and placed on a spiral-shaped plastic cord.
Two openings on the tube may be filled with a hydrophobic compound. MSKhZ tubes should be used for unarmored cables while MSKhZ-A tubes should be used for armored cables.
