A new home for Moscow Metro trains

Moscow mayor Sergey Sobyanin has officially opened the Stolbovo depot today. The depot will serve trains on the Troitskaya Line and in the future on the Sokolnicheskaya Line.

Traffic at the facility will be controlled by digital automation systems developed and manufactured by GC NPS companies.

Our specialists have implemented the latest computer-based interlocking system MPC-EL manufactured by JSC ELTEZA at this site. They connected 41 switches and 45 signals to this system. The system allows for remote operation via computer. Furthermore, this digital solution monitors device parameters, performs diagnostics, and helps identify pre-failure conditions.

An important element of the system is the built‑in cyber protection, which prevents unauthorised access to the digital equipment.

The Stolbovo depot will be able to service up to 10,000 railcars per year. Its commissioning will ensure the operation of the new sections of the Troitskaya line. With digital control systems in place, metro operations remain reliable and safe even as traffic intensity increases.

Stolbovo is the fifth depot of the Moscow Metro to implement the computer-based interlocking system developed by GC NPS.
