200 Railway stations in Russia are equipped with MPC-EL computer-based interlocking system

The Uktur station of the Far Eastern Railway became the two hundredth, where the MPC-EL computer-based interlocking system was put into operation.

The system was developed by Russian companies of the Railways Division of the NPS Holding Company, taking into account the requirements of technological import substitution of key equipment and improving the efficiency and safety of operation of the country's railway infrastructure. The full production cycle has been mastered at the Moscow site of the ELTEZA company.

The implementation of the MPC-EL system on the Russian railway network began in 2017 with the Iberday station of the Southeastern Railway and accelerated significantly last year, taking into account the implementation of the strategic program for the modernization of the Baikal-Amur mainline. The Eastern polygon remains one of the leaders in the number of stations equipped with MPC-EL – more than 100 facilities here have switched to digital control. The system is also being actively implemented in the Moscow region – at JSC Russian Railways stations, the Moscow Metro, and lines of Moscow central diameters.

In total, the MPC-EL system at the Uktur station includes:

  • 23 switches;

  • 27 traffic lights with LED optical systems;

  • LED route signs;

  • electric switch machines SP-6K;

  • unified power supply system with uninterruptible power supply devices UEP-U-M with low-maintenance batteries;

  • mobile MK-PBX complexes, which house all the MPC-EL post equipment.

In late October and early November, 3 more stations of the Far Eastern Railway were equipped with MPC-EL:

  • st. 2406 km - 7 switches;

  • st. Mugule - 6 switches;

  • st. 3346 km - 2 switches.
